Terrell Owens back in practice and geared up to play against Tennessee Titans

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens went back to practice Friday after he sat out most of the week due to a hip injury. Owens also declared that he is ready and geared up to play against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Just yesterday, Bills coach Dick Jauron had mentioned that Owens was still struggling from the injury and was working with the training staff instead of practicing with the team.

Owens said he woke up Tuesday morning feeling stiff after he fell asleep on his couch Monday night after practice. He strained his hip as the team left him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

“Earlier in the week it was painful, but I knew I would be ready,” said Owens, who is officially listed as questionable. “My couch is very comfortable, so it’s easy to fall asleep on. (But) I don’t know if it was the couch.”

The Bills would need Owens though his production has not been stellar so far this season. Owens creates matchup problems for coaches and defenses have to account for where he is on the field.

Though he has only has one touchdown with 23 catches and 281 receiving yards, on Sunday against the Titans, expect this game to be a lot different. It depends on quarterback Trent Edwards if he is on the same page with Owens who should make the Titans secondary think twice about leaving him open.

Though Owens is ready to go on Sunday, the Bills will be missing three starters on the defensive side of the ball. Both Cornerback Terrence McGee and defensive tackle Kyle Williams are out due to knee problems and Linebacker Keith Ellison has a quad injury.
