Brett Favre is probably the most competitive person in the NFL and do not let a groin injury fool you about him possibility getting sideline from playing this Sunday coming off a bye week; especially when his opponent this Sunday is the Detroit Lions.
Favre, who has led the Vikings to a 7-1 record so far this season, will certainly like to lead Minnesota to a probably convincing win over the Lions as they continue to dominate the NFC North.
An injury he sustained in practice two weeks ago, Favre worsened the groin injury while warming up against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. He led the Vikings to a 38-26 win at Lambeau against the Packers and had a bye week last Sunday.
Minnesota, under Favre, is currently second in points in the NFL as their offense has improve tremendously with the former Packer and former New York Jets quarterback leading their offense with Adrian Peterson in the backfield.
Though the injury bothered Favre against the Packers - the win over his former must have numbed the pain - the quarterback mentioned it was “not as bad” as he expected. Also since he has never had this problem before, it should be noteworthy how he deals with it and also how coach Brad Childress handles it as well with an opposition they should win against.
Though Favre said he remained in Minnesota for the bye week, the quarterback did not do anything to aggravate the injury; all he did was hunt.
