Though Brett Favre has mentioned that it is very unlikely that he returns to the NFL next season, it’s never say never with Brett and that’s why Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress says he won’t give the quarterback a deadline.
Just like Favre waited during the offseason, skipped training camp and led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game, Childress will wait for Favre to either play or not for the 2010 NFL season.
The coach said on Tuesday that though he would rather know sooner than later regarding their 40-year-old quarterback’s status for next season, the Vikings would prepare for both possibilities.
Though Favre claimed after the NFC Championship game loss to the New Orleans Saints that he would not take months to make up his mind on whether he would return or not, his past history first with the Green Bay Packers on this issue makes it a topic of discussion.
